Biography

Jay Spengler has been practicing law for over two decades and has extensive experience as a trial attorney specializing in medical malpractice lawsuits, auto accident litigation, and general liability claims. His knowledge of the Florida legal system and healthcare litigation, coupled with his ability to cultivate healthy professional relationships, makes him a great asset to the firm.

Jay was born in Springfield, IL, in 1970. He started his formal educational journey with a BA, majoring in History and Political science, from Northern Illinois University, graduating Magna Cum Laude. He graduated from Southern Illinois University School of Law in 1996.

Jay’s legal career began as a litigator (civil) in the office of the Attorney General (AG) (state of Illinois). After spending over three years in his home state, he transferred to the state of Florida’s office of AG, where he continued as a civil litigation attorney.

In 2002, he joined a prestigious law firm in Tampa, where he practiced for 15 years, becoming a partner. He refined his trial practice and alternative resolutions, honing his skills of resolving sensitive healthcare litigation cases with as little business and reputation disruption as possible. He was also among the few attorneys selected to be the rising stars in 2009.

In 2016, he joined a national law firm helping to build the Tampa FL office. In 2021, he joined the Ferrainolo Law Group, a firm that is ideally positioned to make use of Jay’s talents as a medical malpractice defense attorney. Jay brings more than just the number of years he has practiced law in Florida (and Illinois). He brings his legal skills, connections, knowledge, and most importantly, shares the client-centric vision of the firm.
