Kysa Douglas 

Kysa has been a registered nurse for 13 years in Southwest Wisconsin. She always knew she wanted to be a nurse. She believes this came from growing up with a disabled brother who required many life-threatening surgeries and hospitalizations during her childhood. Being a caregiver was a way of life and came very naturally to her.

Kysa’s first year of nursing practice was on medical/surgical units. This was invaluable in her development as a nurse. After getting that solid foundation, Kysa practiced as a perinatal nurse in the hospital setting. Kysa has experience caring for women during high-risk pregnancy, through labor & delivery, and during their postpartum stay with their newborn. Empowering pregnant women and new moms remains a passion for her!

Her interest in the legal system drew me to the legal nursing specialty in 2019. She often jokes, that if she hadn’t become a nurse, she would’ve become a lawyer. By being a legal nurse consultant, she gets the best of both worlds.

Kysa remains in Southwest Wisconsin (despite disliking the bitter cold months) with her significant other, Darren, and three kids. When not working, Kysa enjoys endless cups of coffee and getting lost in a true crime story.
